Earth Day Southern Tier committee-member Rachel Davenport is on the weekly, local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up talking about the plans for the festival at SUNY Broome Community College April 28, 2019.

Registration is still being taken for environmentally-conscious businesses and non-profits to participate.  The registration fee gets vendors an 8' space at the festival, which is held inside on the BCC campus. Over 40 vendors are expected ranging from educational groups, gardening advocates and green businesses to artists, outdoor enthusiasts and even animal ambassadors from Binghamton's Ross Park Zoo.

Special t-shirts will be available this year celebrating 30 years of Earth Fest in the Binghamton area, which is one of the oldest, on-going celebrations of Earth Day in the country.

Davenport also talks about attitudes about the environment and how popular opinion has driven some environmental trends.

Earth Day Southern Tier is a local, all volunteer non-for-profit organization and would welcome new participants.

Information about Earth Fest, vendor registration and becoming involved in Earth Day Southern Tier can be found at www.earthdaysoutherntier.org,
