The 23rd annual event takes place July 16-24 -- just a few weeks before the US Open in New York, NY.
Over its history, tennis pros from all over the world have utilized the Binghamton Challenger as an opportunity to get ready for the US Open. The 2015 Men's Singles winner was Kyle Edmund, a South African-born British tennis pro. The 2015 Men's Doubles winners were Dean O'Brien and Ruan Roelofse, both of South Africa.
This huge community event is looking for local volunteers to assist with set-up and tear down, ticket sales, food service at VIP events, drivers, and even ball runners during the tournament. Volunteers who work a certain amount of hours can be eligible for tournament passes, a t-shirt, and event a hat. You can sign up to volunteer on the Binghamton Challenger website or by calling (607) 765-2584.
