Teacher Accused of Inappropriate Touching Students

A Delaware County special education teacher is accused of inappropriately touching two male students.

Sheriff’s officials say Sidney Central School teacher, 48 year old James Lewis Junior of Otego was arrested May 3 after authorities were informed by a school resource officer that staff members had seen a teacher engaging in inappropriate contact.

Lewis surrendered to Deputies, accompanied by his attorney.

He is charged with two misdemeanor counts of forcible touching and three misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The Sidney School District immediately put Lewis on administrative leave.

Lewis is free on his own recognizance to wait for his next date in court.
