Accused Sherburne School Bus Groper Faces New Charges
New York State Police say a Sherburne Earlville bus driver accused of groping three teens allegedly failed to tell the district he was a sex offender.
Troopers say 61-year-old Douglas Webb of Sherburne is now charged with felony Offering a False Instrument for Filing and misdemeanor Falsifying Business Records for failure to disclose he had a previous sex abuse conviction when he filled out his application for a job as a school bus driver.
Last week, on February 3, Troopers arrested Webb for misdemeanor Forcible Touching and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Webb is accused of inappropriately touching three students. The 14-year-old, 15-year-old and 16-year-old were allegedly touched while Webb was working as a Sherburne Earlville school bus driver.
At the time of his arraignment, stay-away orders of protection were issued for the victims.
Webb has been released and ordered to appear in Sherburne Village Court later this month.
