Drug Take Back Day

Broome County is participating in the National Drug Take Back Day October 29 and unveiling a new kiosk to take syringes and other “sharps”.

Area law enforcement officials say they have collected hundreds of pounds of drugs for disposal following the April 27 National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Several locations October 22 are accepting old and unwanted medications to keep them out of the wrong hands or from polluting the environment.

Area law enforcement agencies report over a thousand pounds of unwanted and expired medications won’t be ending up in the wrong hands, area landfills or waste water systems.
