Suspected Copper Thieves Nabbed Arrested in Binghamton
Police say two Binghamton men have admitted involvement in several copper thefts in the area.
Authorities say 37-year-old Jamie Beardsley and 22-year-old Dustin Sessions were arrested after city police received a report of criminal mischief at the Binghamton Plaza on West State Street.
An officer noticed an open door at a former pool hall at the plaza. When the officer entered the building, a man ran away.
Police took Beardsley and Sessions into custody a short time later.
Both men were charged with two counts of third-degree burglary. They were arraigned in Binghamton city court and sent to Broome County Jail without bail.
