Town Supervisor Michael Marinaccio says he found out that the Sunrise Terrace Community Center was meeting L.C.P.'s wrecking ball December 30.

Marinaccio said he expected the site to be totally cleared of debris by the end of the day or by Tuesday.

The 63-year-old Sunrise Terrace Community Center building has been closed for almost two years due to structural concerns caused by a settling foundation.  In December, 2017, the building at 14 Terrace Drive was declared unfit for human occupancy and condemned.

Marinaccio says the site is being graded and turned into a park-like setting while a committee explores a long-term plan for the property.
