Student Threats in Cortland and Waverly Investigated
Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say more charges are possible against a Plymouth teen after photos and video of a threat directed toward the Cortland High School were posted from his snapchat account.
Authorities arrested 19 year old Jensen Schack in the afternoon hours of March 3 and charged him with making terroristic threats.
The 2016 Cortland High School Graduate was found to have an assault-style semi-automatic rifle with ammunition at his home.
The Cortland City School District was notified of the potential threat at the start of the investigation.
Schack was sent to the Cortland County Jail on $100,000 bail.
Meanwhile, two Waverly school students are accused of making threats in an exchange with other students.
Police say one of the two students allegedly stole a butter knife from an art class. The knife was recovered from the student without incident and there apparently had been no attempt to use it in any violent manner.
The Tioga County Attorney’s Office and Probation Department are investigating.
The two students have been suspended as per district policy.
