NY Attorney General: No Substantiated Voter Fraud
The attorney general of New York says there was not a "single substantiated claim" of voter fraud in the state last year.
Eric Schneiderman on Wednesday said he has sent a letter to members of Congress responding to an inquiry into allegations of election fraud across the country.
In the message, Schneiderman said out of thousands of calls received by his office, only two people alleged fraud. He said one claim was investigated and determined to be unfounded. He said the second claim could not be reviewed because the caller did not provide sufficient information.
Schneiderman said he has conclued that voter fraud is a "non-issue, at least in New York State."
Schneiderman's office recently filed suit against the New York City Board of Elections in connection with reported violations that more than 200,000 people had been illegally removed from the voter rolls.
