Spectrum cable and internet users could receive a credit if they were affected by the recent widespread service interruption.

Customers in the Binghamton area and in much of the company's northeast service region are said to have lost cable television and online services on Saturday.

Charter Communications spokeswoman Lara Pritchard described the problem as a weather-related event. She said service was restored shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday.

Prtichard said heavy snow storms caused significant fiber damage of the company's primary and redundant networks in multiple places.

Customers who were affected may contact Spectrum to request credit. The company may be reached at (855) 707-7328. Pritchard said Spectrum will work with customers individually.
