The Maine-Endwell Spartans meet the team that gave them a tough couple of battles last season and M-E expects no less of a struggle when the two high school football squads meet at SV tomorrow at 1:30 (air at 1:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  The Sabers are 1-1 so far this season while the Spartans are 2-0 and riding a New York State record 53-game winning streak.

Last season SV gave the Spartans all they could handle in both the regular season as well as the playoffs.  Maine-Endwell topped the Sabers 27-14 in week two of the regular campaign and then came close to pulling off a huge upset when they battled M-E in a 13-6 loss in the Section 4 semi-final playoff round.

The Spartans have moved back to Class A competition while Susquehanna Valley remains in Class B.  Both are set for another tough
