Some police agencies in the region say they are getting calls from people misunderstanding Governor Andrew Cuomo’s “PAUSE” order.

While the directive discourages people from going out except for essential trips like getting groceries, going to doctor appointments or pharmacies, State borders are not closed and people will not be pulled over for being out.

Some state and county police operations say they have been receiving calls from residents concerned about being stopped or who think they will encounter roadblocks.

Much misinformation is being spread through social media with some purported “news reports” saying the Amish were being stopped trying to cross the New York/ Pennsylvania border.
