New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the funding January 22 that includes work on route 12 in Chenango County, Route 79 in the Town of Fenton as well as a portion in Tioga County from Route 38 to the Tompkins County line, Route 7 in Tunnel, Route 97 in Delaware County and Route 26 in Cortland County.

The 19-point-six million dollars allocated for renewal of 124-lane miles of roads in Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Delaware, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga and Tompkins counties is part of a total of $151 million in new funding for 95 paving projects on roads impacted by extreme weather events.

The Governor’s office says the new funding through the PAVE NY initiative complements $734 million in direct State aid for local road and bridge projects across New York.
