Some NYS COVID Vaccination Sites Close, Local Clinics Step Up

Governor Andrew Cuomo says four COVID mass vaccination sites in the state are closing after administering their last shots on July 19.  They are in Niagara Falls, Plattsburgh, Utica and Jones Beach.

The Democrat says the state is continuing to downscale operations as progress is being made in fighting the pandemic and attention shifts to localized vaccination efforts.

The Binghamton University site in Johnson City is still offering Janssen Johnson & Johnson shots for walk-ins.

The Chenango County Health Department is giving the J&J shot July 14 between 3 and 6 p.m. before Bike Night at Seebers Tavern and July 15 the Pfizer shot will be available from 4 to 6 p.m. at the former Label Shopper in Norwich.

The Broome County Health Department lists the following clinics:

• 7/15 a 1st Dose Moderna Clinic will be held at Broome County Health Department on Front Street in Binghamton from 1 to 3 p.m
• 7/15 a J&J Single-Dose Clinic will be at Trucks on the Tracks from 5 to 7 at the train depot on Lewis Street in Binghamton
• 7/17 a J&J Single-Dose Clinic will be at the Deposit Lumberjack Festival from noon to 3 p.m 

Next week, on July 22 the first dose of the Moderna will be available at the Broome County Health Department and a clinic for the single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine will be held at Ross Park Zoo on July 24. Go to www.gobroomecounty.com for information and to register.

The Delaware County Health Department will hold a single-dose J&J clinic on Saturday, July 17 at the Bloomville Fire Department on Scotch Hill Road from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  No appointment or pre-registration is needed.
