Broome County health officials say an employee of a town of Dickinson store has tested positive for COVID-19.

Public health director Rebecca Kaufman Thursday afternoon issued a self-quarantine advisory for people who visited the business while the worker was there.

Kaufman said the employee worked at the Mirabito convenience store at 879 Front Street.

People who were in the store on April 3 from 5:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or on April 4 from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. should self-quarantine. Those who develop coronavirus symptoms should contact their healthcare provider. Symptoms include cough, fever and shortness of breath. The 14-day incubation period will end April 18.

Kaufman said the health department received the positive test result Thursday morning.

According to the Mirabito website, the store near the SUNY Broome Community College campus is closed for "cleaning and sanitization."
