Slippery Roads and Wind Complicate Twin Tiers Commute
Slippery conditions are not out of the question in spite of milder temperatures for the Twin Tiers, paired with some hefty wind gusts.
Emergency Services officials in Tioga and Chenango Counties early December 2 reported the higher elevations, especially were slippery. Motorists also reported slick conditions in parts of the Town of Binghamton and the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania, including Susquehanna County.
In addition, the National Weather Service at the Greater Binghamton Airport has been recording wind gusts over 20 miles per hour.
The gusty winds can cause hazards for motorists with blowing debris, garbage cans and even loose holiday ornaments blowing onto streets and roads.
If you have decorations that could be impacted by the wind, especially those inflatables, make sure they are properly secured and it is a good idea to deflate the devices during high winds.
