If you are heading home soon from work and are taking Interstate 88 through the Port Dickinson/Chenango Bridge area, you may want to find a different route home.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, I-88 eastbound is closed in the area of the I-81 N/I-88 E connector and Route 7 in Port Dickinson, as of just after 3:15 p.m. Tuesday due to a serious crash.

The sheriff's office suggests avoiding the area and finding other streets to travel on if you do have to drive through the area, like Front Street and Chenango Street.

Injuries were reported, according to the Broome County Dispatch Center, but there is no word yet on how many or the severity.
