Section 4 Football Championships

Five Section 4 Football Championships will be decided this weekend at Union-Endicott's Ty Cobb Stadium.  Two titles will be decided on Friday night and three more on Saturday.  Here's what Championship Weekend looks like:

Friday at 5:00 PM in the Class D Championship game Unatego/Franklin (8-1) meets Sidney (6-3).  Then at 8:00 PM in the A Championship battle Vestal (6-2) meets Union-Endicott (5-4).

Three games dot the Saturday schedule.  At Noon Newark Valley (9-0) puts its undefeated record on the line against Spencer-Van Etten/Candor (7-2) in the battle for the C title.  At 3:00 PM the AA crown will be decided as Binghamton (5-4) tackles Elmira  (8-1).  In the nightcap set for a 6:00 PM kickoff Chenango Forks (9-0) meets Windsor (7-2).

Section 4 winners advance to the state quarterfinal round next weekend hosted by Section 3's Cicero-North Syracuse High School.

News Radio 1290 WNBF will broadcast a pair of games on Saturday.  The Class AA game with Binghamton and Elmira competing will be aired as will the Class B Championship contest between Chenango Forks and Windsor.  The games can also be heard online at wnbf.com.  Roger Neel and Tim Smith will call all of the action.
