While the COVID-19 pandemic continues to dominate public health concern, the annual fight against the seasonal flu is also an upcoming concern and that is being brought forward in Broome County.

The County Office for Aging and Lourdes have announced flu clinics for people of all ages starting September 20 and continuing through October 12 at the senior centers.

Getting vaccinated against the seasonal flu is especially important for people age 65 and older and they are being urged not to wait until the start of the flu season, traditionally in October, to get their annual flu shot.

Lourdes accepts most insurance plans.  For those without insurance, there will be a 25-dollar fee.

The clinics are at the Broome West Senior Center on the 20th, the First Ward Senior Center on the 24th, the Vestal Senior Center on the 29th the Eastern Broome on the 1st, Northern Broome the 4th, Johnson City on the 6th and North Shore Towers on the 12th .
