Retired Johnson City Police Sergeant Passes Away

A jovial, long-time Johnson City Police officer is being remembered for his love of golf, sports and public service.

64 year old Robert Kavulich, better known to many as “Buda” passed away June 5 after battling pancreatic cancer.

He served 22 years on the J-C police force before retiring as a Sergeant in 1998.  After retiring, Kavulich was employed as a security officer.

A funeral mass is planned for 11:30 a.m. June 13 at Saint James Church in Johnson Citya.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 North McKinley Avenue, Endicott 13760 or Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
