Red Jug Pub Prepares to Open in Downtown Binghamton
The place that was home to the Binghamton Optical business for several decades is about to get a new life as the fourth Red Jug Pub.
Tom Terwilliger says he and his partners are excited as they get ready to open the tavern at 17 Main Street in downtown Binghamton.
Binghamton Optical closed its doors just over three years ago. The Red Jug Pub owners acquired the property in March 2019.
Red Jug Pub already has locations in Cortland, Brockport and Oneonta.
Terwilliger initially expected the Binghamton site would be in operation last summer but the Covid-19 pandemic delayed the project. Now, he says he hopes the Binghamton site can open on Monday.
Terwilliger says 34 people have been hired for the new operation. He expects there'll be more hiring before college students return to Binghamton for fall semester classes.
