Police: Tioga Man Stole $45,000 From Relative’s Safe

A 31-year-old man was sent to Tioga County Jail after he was arrested in connection with the reported theft of $45,000 from a safe belonging to a family member.

Authorities say Nicholas Sacco of Harnecky Road, Newark Valley, has been charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony.

According to the Tioga County Sheriff's Office, Sacco was accused of stealing the money from the safe in Newark Valley.

Investigators say Sacco was arrested Thursday. He was arraigned before an Owego town justice and ordered held on $5,000 bail.
