Authorities say Tristan Roche was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the incident which reportedly happened in the Town of Kirkwood.

Investigators say the vehicle involved had been parked on Route 11. They determined Roche had put a "foreign substance" into the car's fuel tank with the intent to cause damage.

According to state police, the incident occurred last month. The substance is said to have caused about $800 worth of damage to the vehicle after it was driven a short distance by the owner.
