No injuries are being reported after a small airplane had to make an emergency landing into a field in the Town of Chenango October 30.

New York State Police say the experimental Cub aircraft owned and piloted by 62 year old John Sherman of Lisle was in flight on the way from Chenango Bridge to Georgetown, New York when the engine failed over the Chenango Forks area.

Sherman managed to put the plane down in the open field without damaging property other than the propeller of his plane. He towed the aircraft from the scene.

The Federal Aviation Administration was contacted and released the aircraft.
