PGA Makes Plans to Resume Play
The PGA could be the first sport to return to competition. PGA officials have announced that they hope to return to competition with the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial in Fort Worth, Texas from June 11-14.
The Associated Press and writer Doug Ferguson outlined the plan on the PGA website. Under the proposal PGA Tour tournaments would be played through Labor Day. The only exception would be a week off during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Officials say a new season would begin on the heels of that Labor Day week event. The new season would begin with tournament pay from Sept 10-13 in Napa, California and run through December 6 before resuming after the holidays.
Under the plan no fans would be allowed to watch for at least one month which would put the date into mid-July.
