Two Johnson City residents are accused of manufacturing methamphetamine.

39 year old William Richards and 19 year old Kurtis Richards were arrested April 14 according to the New York State Police, and charged with unlawfully manufacturing methamphetamine, unlawful disposal of meth lab material, criminal possession of marijuana, criminally using drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of a controlled substance following a search on East Maine Road in the Town of Union.

Authorities say they seized about four grams of methamphetamine, 232 grams of marijuana, digital scales, packaging material and components used in the manufacture of meth.

Both were sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.

The New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team was called in to clean up the hazardous materials from the scene.
