Pa. Mail-In Ballot Application Deadline is Here

May 10 at 5 p.m. the deadline for Pennsylvania voters who want to vote by mail to request a ballot.
Mail-in ballots can be requested for eligible voters who have a disability or illness or who will be away from their home municipality on election day. Residents should contact their local board of election.
Previously, voters could request the ballot in an online application but those applications must be received by the state no later than 5 p.. May 10.
Meanwhile, the issue over whether Pennsylvania’s mail-in ballot law that was approved in 2019 is constitutional is still being debated by the state’s Supreme Court.
In spite of the measure initially being approved by a Republican-majority legislature, a G.O.P. lawsuit argued lawmakers didn’t have the constitutional right to make changes to allow for voting by mail without an approved excuse.
Until a ruling is made, the no-excuses mail-in voting rule remains in place. It’s not known when the Justices may make a decision.
