Oxford Man Arrested in Crystal Meth Bust
Chenango County Sheriff’s officials say they have shut down an operation distributing crystal methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana in the area.
Authorities conducted a no-knock search of a home on North Washington Avenue in the Village of Oxford at 5:45 a.m. October 5 and arrested 40 year old Joshua Figary at a nearby address.
Sheriff’s Deputies, the New York State Police Community Narcotic’s Enforcement Team and Norwich City Police had conducted a lengthy investigation into the location.
Authorities say they found several handguns at the home including a .380 and two .22 caliber guns, a .40 caliber handgun and .45 caliber handgun.
In addition to the weapons, police say they found 20 grams of crystal meth, individually packaged for resale and $1,200. Investigators say one of the handguns was found to be stolen.
Figary was located on Franklin Street and taken into custody without incident.
He’s charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of a weapon.
