Owego Sunoco Worker Accused of Stealing from Employer

New York State Police say an Owego gas station employee is accused of doctoring store records to cover up alleged thefts.

20 year old Justin Whalen Smith of Owego was arrested at around 4:15 p.m. March 7 and is charged with felony falsifying business records and misdemeanor petit larceny.

Investigators say Smith is accused of stealing store funds and merchandise from the Sunoco on State Route 17C in the Town of Owego and falsifying the store records to cover it up.

Smith is to appear in Town of Owego Court later this month.
