Asteelflash has filed a plant layoff notice indicating 34 people will be affected at its facility on Route 38, just north of the village of Owego.

According to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, the layoff date will be June 27.

A representative of the Asteelflash human resources office was unable to provide any specific information about the planned layoffs.

Asteelflash provides electronic manufacturing services with about two dozen facilities around the world.

The Owego plant had been owned by Catalyst Manufacturing Services until it was acquired by Asteelflash in 2012.
