Stores on North Street in Endicott and Front Street in the Town of Chenango closed a few weeks ago.

The single remaining RadioShack unit in Broome County is in Whitney Point, where an outlet is located as part of Gregg's True Value store.

An employee at the store said the RadioShack shop was expected to remain open.

RadioShack stores in Binghamton, Johnson City and Vestal were closed in early 2015.

More than 1,000 additional RadioShack locations reportedly were shut down across the country over the last few days.

RadioShack has been in business for nearly a century. At one point, there were more than 7,300 stores.

RadioShack is operating an online auction to accept bids for what are described as "classic items."
