Zoos, like Binghamton's Ross Park Zoo, museums, like Roberson, The Discovery Center and the Bundy Museum, aquariums and botanical gardens can increase to 50 percent capacity starting Monday, April 26. Movie theaters can go to 33 percent capacity Monday and large arenas and event venues are cleared to go to 25 percent May 19.

Cuomo says the move to allow quarter-capacity at sports arenas on May 19 was a decision made with New York sports teams.  The Democrat says state officials have been talking to the teams about what would be a time for playoffs to begin and working back the starting date for reopening.

New York’s positive test results for the coronavirus continues to inch downward.  April 19, the state reported 4,339 new cases while the day before the new positives were put at 5,704.  The seven-day rate ending April 18 was New York's lowest recorded for a seven-day stretch since Thanksgiving.

Governor Cuomo says the wide range of infection rates in the state can be simply traced back to residents' behavior.  While the Southern Tier continues to show positivity rates at under one-percent, Western New York continues to show rates of over 3.8%.
