Binghamton Restaurant Week continues through Thursday, March 30th.  Over 30 locally owned Binghamton restaurants are participating.  Number 5 Restaurant, 33 South Washington Street, is once again taking part in Binghamton Restaurant Week serving up some wonderful dinners for visitors.

Number 5 is featuring their "3 for $30" Restaurant Week specials. My wife Beth and I had the opportunity to enjoy dinner at Number 5 on Wednesday night.  We were not alone.  A big crowd turned out but the staff at Number 5 had no problem keeping the waiting time brief.

We were greeted by our server Juliana who was outstanding.  She provided cheerful, wonderful service, answered all of our questions and set the tone for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

For the first course Beth enjoyed Greek Stuffed Mushrooms.  She even let me sample them and they were delicious.  My choice was French Onion Soup.  It was perfect and a delightful way to begin the dining experience.

For our main course Beth ordered the Coquilles St. Jacques with scallops and mushrooms in a classic Sherry cream sauce.  I love fish and had Number 5's Seared Salmon.  It was served with green curry and lemongrass.  The salmon was prepared perfectly and was a sizable portion.  With mashed potatoes It was enough for the biggest of appetites.

The third course was dessert.  Beth's choice was Number 5's Red Velvet Cake.  Moist and flavorful it was a great way to complete the meal.  Juliana recommended Number 5's Homemade Chocolate Decadence.  Great choice ! I would suggest you try it.  It was delicious.

Since 1978 Number 5 has been considered one of the region's premier restaurants.  It has been the restaurant of choice for thousands of special occasions.  Now, during Binghamton Restaurant Week you can enjoy the finest in dining at very affordable prices.  Number 5 is.....well Number 5, a great choice for you and someone special.  We had a wonderful time.
