North Carolina Man Convicted of Raping Incapacitated Woman in Vestal

A North Carolina man is guilty of raping a physically helpless woman in Vestal last September.  A Broome County jury has convicted 22-year-old Prince Njoku of felony rape.

He faces up to 25 years in prison when he is scheduled to be sentenced in September.

Vestal Police investigated a report of an incident in which Njoku allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with a 20-year-old woman who was incapable of consent by reason of being physically helpless on September 16.

He was indicted in February and pleaded not guilty in March.

Njoku was convicted July 12.
