North American Car Club Donates Thousands to So. Tier Charities
Some local charities are getting a big donation from a car-lovers club with members from all over North America.
The North American Solstice and Sky Annual Meet was held in Corning this year and the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse (CHOW), the Crime Victims Assistance Center and the Food Bank of the Southern Tier each received a $4,500 donation from the group.
Organizers say over 250 people from the United States and Canada attended the week-long event, showing off their Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky and European Opel GTs in Corning and the Finger Lakes region.
The amount being donated to Southern Tier charities is the second-highest the Kappa enthusiasts have raised since 2006.
