Night Work Planned on Route 17/I81 in Binghamton
Motorists on State Route 17 in the City of Binghamton in the overnight hours may encounter some construction crews for the next few nights.
The New York State Department of Transportation says night work is planned for the eastbound lanes starting just west of Mygatt Street. An illuminated sign at the Stella Ireland/Airport Road exit in the Town of Dickinson advises the work was scheduled to begin May 2. The D.O.T. says the work was expected to conclude on Thursday, May 5.
Officials with the state D.O.T. say minor concrete repairs and maintenance are being done starting west of Mygatt Street and working east and south to the area around Exit 3 on Interstate 81 South. The work will then shift and travel back on the westbound side.

The work is being done over four nights from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather dependent.
The D.O.T. says there will be various single and double lane closures moving along with the project.
Motorists are advised to be aware of the nighttime work, slow down and move over to allow construction workers to safely do their job.
