New York State Police Investigate Fatal Crash in Coventry
New York State Police are investigating a crash in Chenango County in which a passenger in a pickup truck has died.
Authorities say the pickup carrying 46 year old Michelle Lieberman of Smithtown, New York apparently ran a stop sign at State Route 206 and 235 in Coventry shortly before 10 p.m. May 9 and collided with a tractor trailer.
The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, 52-year-old William Derosa Junior of Islip Terrace New York, and a 7-year-old and 12-year-old child in the truck suffered minor injuries and were transported to Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center in Johnson City.
Lieberman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Lisle man who was driving the tractor trailer was not injured.
Troopers say while the investigation is continuing, it does not appear alcohol was a factor.
