
New York is Still Without a Budget
New York State is three days into its fiscal year with no budget.
Governor Andrew Cuomo is proposing a two-month extension on the current budget to avoid a government shutdown.
Sticking points in the new spending plan include the Governor’s plan for free tuition at New York colleges for middle-class students and a justice reform measure that would stop the prosecution of 16 and 17 year olds as adults.
New York’s fiscal year began April 1.
