Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say they found a large amount of marijuana and a lot of money after they stopped a vehicle for speeding on Route 17 in the Town of Hancock November 8.

Deputies stopped the westbound vehicle driven by 20 year old Messiah Ortiz of New York City and found a strong smell of pot coming from the car.

Authorities say they found a pound of marijuana and over $2,500.

Ortiz and his passenger, 26 year old Michael Lewis are accused of intending to sell the marijuana at Tompkins Cortland Community College.

Both are charged with felony criminal possession of marijuana and were sent to the Delaware County Jail on $15,000 bail.
