New Casinos Record Lower Than Expected Revenues

Tioga Downs Casino and Resort in Nichols is one of three new full-service casinos in New York that is not financially performing as expected.

Analysts blame a saturated gaming market for lower than anticipated revenue for Tioga Downs, Del Lago Resort and Casino in the Finger Lakes and Rivers Casino in Schenectady.

Casino officials say, however, they are still creating jobs and generating new economic activity in their communities that the localities previously didn’t have.
