Nasty Weather Is Here

The long anticipated nasty weather arrived in our area this evening  The WNBF listening area is under a Winter Storm Warning until 1 PM Tuesday.  The warning, issued by the National Weather Service, calls for a mixed bag of precipitation.

The Winter Storm Warning includes heavy wet snow, sleet, freezing rain and just rain.  Snow accumulations are expected in the three to six inch range along with what could be a tenth of an inch of ice.  The highest snowfall amounts are expected in the higher elevations.

In the warning from the National Weather Service the likelihood of winds that could gust up to 35 miles per hour can make and snowfall worse and snow and ice accumulations could lead to power outages and downed limbs and trees.
