An appeal is expected to be filed in the conviction of a man who was accused of strangling  his wife to death on Lisi Lane and killing her friend.

The State Appeals Court will be asked to reverse 43 year old Aaron Powell’s conviction in the deaths of 35 year old Christina Powell and 24 year old Mario Masciarelli which got him a maximum sentence of life in prison.

The defense claims the evidence presented was circumstantial.

Powell was convicted of murder and was said to had strangled his estranged wife with an electrical cord and beaten Masciarelli with a baseball bat in a jealous rage after stalking the pair in March of 2013.

The Appellate Court is scheduled to get the filing May 31.
