Less than five months after a devastating arson fire, kids are once again playing at the OurSpace adaptive playground in Binghamton.

Children along with their parents and grandparents enjoyed the unusually-warm weather Wednesday afternoon at the just-completed play area in Recreation Park on the city's West Side.

Jennifer O'Brien, who was the coordinator for the initial OurSpace project in 2016, said she was happy to see activity at the special playground.

Construction work for the new OurSpace complex began in August. The project was supported with donations from area residents and businesses.

One girl who was exploring the site said "this is really, really neat!"

Much of the original OurSpace facility was destroyed by a June 1 fire. City police detectives have said the arson case remains under investigation. No arrests have been reported.
