Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]The National Weather Service says Flood warnings continue for the Susquehanna River at Bainbridge, Conklin, Washington Street in Binghamton, Vestal, Unadilla and Waverly/Sayre as well as the Chenango River in Greene, Chenango Forks and Sherburne and Tioughnioga River at Cortland until after 4 p.m. April 8.  Many rivers are expected to crest April 7 and start to fall below flood stage overnight.

Broome County says the area got more rain than had initially been expected.

Conklin Road was down to one lane near the Fountain Bleu Trailer Park. The Northern end of Otsiningo Park and Dorchester Park are closed.  Hickories Park in Owego has been closed for several days

Minimal water problems like basement flooding were expected for homes in low-lying areas near the rivers.  Some specific problem areas pointed out late last night were in Conklin: Woodcrest Way near the river, Cuddleback Drive and River Road as well as Old Vestal Road and African Road in the Town of Vestal.

The National Weather Service warns motorists should also keep a close watch on the conditions and never attempt to drive through flooded roads or bridges.

Other weather problems included some downed trees in Chenango County and New York State Electric and Gas had been working on scattered power outages mainly in the Greene area.
