The news broke on Wednesday night about a crash that has taken the life of multiple service members in a town near Rochester. The crash occurred during a training exercise on Wednesday.

At first, there was confusion as to exactly what type of aircraft was involved in the fiery crash. However, later on Wednesday, the National Guard had explained that there were three soldiers on board the helicopter and had died from the crash.

It was a tragic ending to what had been a historic day in the United States. The 46th President was sworn in just hours earlier in a ceremony in Washington, D.C. Because of the pandemic and recent events at The Capital, there were no people allowed to welcome Joe Biden to office.

It is unclear as to what caused the crash. There has been a string of lake effect snowstorms that have dropped nearly a foot of snow in the Rochester area this past week. Investigators will continue to assemble information that may point toward a reason for the deadly crash.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends who have lost someone in Wednesday's crash.
