Middletown Board Member Killed in Tractor Crash

Members of a Delaware County community say they are in shock as a well-known member of the Town of Middletown Board was killed in a freak accident in Margaretville.

Sheriff’s officials say 42 year old Jacob “Jake” Rosa of Arkville was on a disabled farm tractor being towed by a landowner on a narrow, snow-covered driveway on Bill Stahl Road shortly before 8 a.m. January 5 when the tractor dropped off the driveway at a steep embankment and overturned.

Rosa was fatally injured.

The tractor was not running at the time of the incident and was not equipped with tire chains or rollover protection structure.
