Meals on Wheels of Western Broome County is looking for volunteers.  The organization delivers 270 meals on a daily basis to homebound and disabled adults in the Western Broome County area.  To provide this size of service the need for a number of volunteers is critical.

For those in need of the Meals on Wheels of Western Broome County delivery many rely on these meals for their daily existence.  Of critical need are Drivers and Friendly Visitors to deliver hot and cold meals.  Delivery areas include Endwell, Endicott, Vestal, Maine and Johnson City.

According to information from Meals on Wheels of Western Broome County deliveries are made in teams of two.  One person drives using their own vehicle and the other is designated the "friendly visitor" who helps with the actual delivery and may spend time speaking with and checking on the recipient(s) of the meal.

Meal deliveries are made from 11 AM to 1 PM.  Each team makes an average of 10-12 stops per day.  Meals on Wheels of Western Broome County provide maps and directions for the team if needed.
