This weekend the Matthews Auto Group is holding its 2nd annual Walk-A-Thon to raise money for five local charities, here’s how you can help.

Many organizations are struggling to keep their operations open, and this is an opportunity to get outside, get some exercise, and help the Mathews Auto Group give to some local charities.

The 2nd annual Matthews Walk-A-Thon will take place this Saturday and Sunday from 7:30a to 6:30p at the Vestal Rail Trail, rain or shine.

If you don’t feel comfortable walking around others you can pick your own location and do the walk virtually. (Walkers on the Honor system)

Matthews is pledging 10 cents per mile for every mile walked by registered participants

The Matthews Auto group is setting a goal of giving a total of $25,000 in donations to five local charities

The five local charities are , GiGi’s Playhouse - a Down Syndrome Achievement Center, Lourdes Hospital Camp Hope - for kids who are dealing with the illness and loss of a loved one, Toys for Tots - providing Christmas gifts for kids in need, A Room to Heal - creating dream bedrooms for kids recovering from serious illness, and Lourdes Hospital Camp Hope - for kids who are dealing with the illness and loss of a loved one.

The Walk-A-Thon is open to the public, you must register to participate.

Complimentary Walk-A-Thon T-Shirts will be given as a thank you to contributions of $20 or more while supplies last. T-Shirts can be picked up at the Matthews GM Center (next to the waterfalls) from October 5th through Saturday October 10th at 4pm.
