The Marathon Maple Festival is back, although be it in a different format.

The “49th and Holding” annual festival will be a drive-thru event due to the restrictions remaining on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic that canceled the festival last year.

The drive-thru maple festival will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 10 at Appleby Elementary School.

According to the Central New York Maple Festival facebook posting, dozens of booths selling beverages, baked goods and, of course, maple syrup, will be on hand while visitors are required to keep their masks on and stay in their vehicles.

Organizers are hoping to return to the traditional festival next year.
