Man Sliced With Box Cutter in Endicott
New York State Police say a 27-year-old is charged with felony assault and tampering with evidence in a stabbing incident on Maple Street in Endicott.
Bryan Boneventre is also charged with misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the incident that sent another 27-year-old man to the hospital with a wound from a slash with a box cutter.
Troopers say they were called with a report of a stabbing Sunday night and that the suspect had fled the scene. Authorities found Boneventre nearby and arrested him.
Investigators say they determined the men had been involved in a verbal dispute that became physical and ended with the victim being sliced with a box cutter, all in the presence of a child. The wounded man was taken to Binghamton General Hospital for treatment.
Boneventre was sent to the Broome County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
